<\/a> To visualize the cavity being entered, a video camera and system are required. There are many diverse types of camera systems available with varying degrees of imaging capabilities and resolutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n The video camera connects to the endoscope to relay the image to the tv screen.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Many camera heads today include controls that the scrubbed team can access to white balance, change lighting conditions, take pictures, or make recordings, and adjust clarity.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Video Cameras on the Sterile Field<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

\n Some video camera systems are manufactured to withstand sterilization and can be taken onto the sterile field by the scrub nurse. During the setup, the end of the camera is handed from the sterile field to the circulating nurse to be connected to the video monitor system.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n The video camera must be connected to the endoscope. Most systems use a coupler device to connect.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Other video cameras are not sterilized. In this case, the scrub nurse uses a camera sleeve system connected to the endoscope. The circulating nurse then presents the non-sterile camera into the camera sleeve. The circulator can then pull the camera sleeve away from the sterile field while the scrub nurse pulls the encased camera onto the sterile field for use.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
